Yawgoog Scout Reservation
61 Camp Yawgoog Rd.
Rockville, RI 02873

GPS Coordinates: N41º 31.483'; W71º 46.721'

Directions: From I-95 (both directions): Follow I-95 to Exit 3B (Rt. 138 West).  Follow Rt. 138 through your 1st traffic light.  At the second light (blinking yellow) turn RIGHT to continue on Rt.138.  Follow 138 until you see the sign for Yawgoog (Camp Yawgoog Rd) on your left.

As you pull into camp you will see the Main Gate. Turn RIGHT on the camp road before the gate.  Follow the camp road to the Sandy Beach parking area (just past the rifle range).  Camp staff will be there to assist and guide you.  Look for our Troop 68 trailer and/or troop members.

According to Street Atlas USA, the camp is about 95 miles from St. Theresa School with a travel time of about 1 Hour, 40 minutes.  While it usually takes less time, please allow extra time for construction delays and Sunday traffic.

Alternate Routes: In 2007, a major accident closed I-95 over six hours - causing major delays for 12 hours. Please "be prepared" and take the "Printer Friendly Copy" with you when you drive to the camp.  The printed version has two alternate routes and maps - just in case!

Drop Off:  No  troops will be allowed to move into their campsite until 5:30 PM on Sunday evening.  However, since there will be over 1000 scouts attending – and limited parking - we suggest arriving around 4:30 PM.   At 5:30 PM SHARP, we will start bringing our gear to the camp site.

There is no meal service on Sunday evening.  Be sure to FEED YOUR SCOUT before arriving at camp.  There are numerous eateries on Rt. 138 next to I-95.

Troop 68 is located in Camp SANDY BEACH at the BACKWOODS camp site.

Pick Up Day: At around 10:00 AM Troop 68 plans to hold a Court of Honor in our camp site.  Parents are encouraged to arrive and visit our campsite at this time.

After the Court of Honor – while the scouts are packing up, eating lunch and preparing for closing ceremonies – parents and visitors relocate to Bucklin Memorial (main building) and the parade grounds.  There is a great chicken BBQ (tickets available online at http://www.yawgoog.org) or you can visit one of the eateries on route 138

At 12:45 PM, the dress parade and closing ceremonies take place at the field by the main building (near the BBQ).  Be sure to bring a camera (and perhaps a folding chair).  Immediately after closing ceremonies (approx. 1:30 PM) scouts are dismissed.
