The following people were in attendance: Andy Spalla, Mike Abrahamson, Mark Carpenter Sr., Mark Carpenter Jr., Bill Amidon, Theresa Davis, Rebecca Beaudoin, Jill Golrick, Richard Alesevich, Tim Ryan, Virginia Perreault, Kathleen Pierce-Blagys, Paul Viggiano, Geri Sloat.

The meeting was called to order by Andy Spalla at 7:43PM, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Secretary’s Report

The wording on the camperships from New Business should be changed to:

"The first $300 raised will be earmarked for Troop 68 Camperships. If these funds are unused, they will be returned to the council."

The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as corrected.

Treasurer’s Report

A statement of the accounts was distributed.

There are still unpaid dues. The treasurer will handle this with the Scoutmaster.

Scoutmaster’s Report

A printed report was distributed.

West Point was truly an interesting experience. It is not often that you can go from 75 degrees and shorts one day to 25 degrees and a driving snowstorm the next morning. The good news is that Troop 68 was very well prepared and the camporee was a rousing success. Our Adult Chefs, Mark Carpenter, Frank Katona, and Craig Voytek place third in Scoutmaster's Cookoff.

Three candidates were elected to the Order of the Arrow.

The District Camporee will be held at Deer Lake Scout Camp in Killingworth.

May 26th will be Troop Elections. All Scouts are encouraged to attend and participate.

The PLC for May has been moved to June 4.

The Scoutmasters Meeting has been moved to May 23.

The Troop JLT, originally scheduled for June 10 will be rescheduled to the end of the summer.

Summer Trip

We will be meeting at 5:00AM yes AM, on Thursday July 13 to leave for Washington. We want to get through New York before the morning rush hour.

Mark Carpenter passed around a schedule for the activities. The schedule will be on the web site.

Old Business

After further investigation there were several additional charges that have made the Voice Mail system infeasible. The Scoutmaster is looking into alternatives.

Summer Camp

The price for Yawgoog has gone up to $200 for the boys and $100 for adults. We will continue to get 2 free adults, and one free for every ten boys, but the Troop cannot afford to fund any additional adults. The committee motioned and approved that all adults will pay $50 no matter how long they stay at the camp.

Other Business

The Council JLT will be held from August 13-20. We encourage all eligible boys (1st Class and 13 years old) to consider attending.

Congratulations to Mark Carpenter, Jr. He was the first Scout in our Council to register for the 2001 National Jamboree.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45PM.
