Troop 68 Parent’s Meeting
October 4, 1999
St. Theresa School
The following people were in attendance: Deena Begin, Joseph A Rescanski, Virginia Perreault, Theresa Davis, Rebecca Beaudoin, Kathleen Pierce, Andy Spalla, Frank Chudy, Paul Viggiano, Carol Kindman, Lee Knudsen, James Belasco, Doug DeMent, Marsha Moore, Mike Abrahamson, Rich Alesevich, Mark Carpenter, Pete McCann, Gail Johnson.
The meeting was called to order by Andy Spalla at 7:39PM, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Secretary’s Report
The minutes of the last meeting were accepted with no changes.
It was requested that the minutes and reports for each meeting be mailed to Msr. DeProfio and Mr Rescanski.
Treasurer’s Report
The due’s letters will be mailed this week.
Completed paperwork for St. Theresa.
We spent all the money collected last year, plus a little. This worked out to about $180 per boy.
Scoutmaster’s Report
See attached sheets.
Committee Reports
Popcorn Sales sheets were handed out last Friday (10/1/1999). Completed forms are due back on 11/12/1999.
Next campout is October 15, 16, 17 at Hoyt Scout Reservation.
Upcoming activities:
11/1/1999 - Parent’s Meeting.
11/13/1999 - Scouting for Food - Collection for the needy.
11/19,20,21 - Campout at Old Mine.
We still need a Publicity Director. This person will help get article in the local paper. Please see Andy Spalla if you are interested.
Yankee Candle Fund Raiser was completed. We grossed $2739.90 from 17 boys. GBI will calculate the profit per boy.
Ongoing Candy bar sales are going well. So far we have grossed $1425.
The 50th Anniversary dinner and Court of Honor will be held Sunday October 17, 1999. Doors open at 1:30. A buffet meal will be served at 2:00. The Court of Honor will start at 3:15. Each boy will receive a commemorative patch and a custom set of troop number with the 50 bar in it. We expect to have about 100 people attend.
Other Business
If you or your boy has any gear, please return it as soon as possible.
Please be sure to include all adult leaders in troop mailings.
There was concern about the mosquito problem for the campout. Mike assured us that both he and the district were aware of the problem and would take appropriate steps if needed.
