Troop 68 Parents' Meeting
March 1, 1999
St. Theresa School
The following 20 parents were present: Tim Ryan, Michael Golrick, Paul Viggiano, Mark Carpenter, Mike Abrahamson, Barbara Misencik, Frank Katona, Jeri Nod, Nina Kendall, Andy Spally, Hank Slesinski, Richard Alesevich, Kieve Berkwits, Bob Pescatore, Richard Silva, John Anastas, Bill Amidon, Vincent Lee, Kathy Topsey, and Jim Bailey. SPL- Brian Golrick was also in attendance.
Meeting called to order by at Michael Golrick 7:37 pm.
1. Paul Viggiano presented the Treasurer's Report- reminder letter for remainder of dues was mailed yesterday; there has been little activity in the scout account since the last meeting. Mr. McCann and Mr. Miller are pursuing information on the candy sale.
2. The SPL reported that there is a special field trip planned for Thursday, March 18th to tour Kendra Corp. in Newtown. the Troop is departing from St. Theresa's parking lot at 4:00pm. The 3/12/99 Troop meeting will be in the CCD room since the gym is occupied that evening.
3. Scoutmaster Report: Mike Abrahamson submitted a 2 page Scoutmaster's Report to the attendees. Highlights included (1) the upcoming vote by the boys to change the age for entry into the Crew, and a one year term for SPL and Quartermaster(s) (2) A Troop run JLT for all boys that are in Patrol Positions, or expect to be in Patrol Positions in the next election, is TENTATIVELY scheduled for April 17th, (3) University of Scouting is to be held at Hillcrest on March 13th.
New Business:
4. June Court of Honor is scheduled for June 4th, the PLC will discuss whether or not food will be served.
5. Mr. Alesevich also passed out Information Sheet #2 for the Summer Trip to Mt. Washington which is scheduled for Saturday July 10th through Tuesday July 13th.
6. Mr Pescatore reported that he attended the Cynthia Heher Benefit Dance, and she is now home.
7. SPL Brian Golrick reminded parents that scouts can continue the merit badge work on their own which was started this month, he also announced that we had a new patrol added recently- the Eagle Patrol.
