1. Mr. Golrick announced that Mrs. Heher was in a serious accident on Saturday. He asked for suggestions on the best way for the Troop to help the family.
2. Paul Viggiano presented the Treasurers Report- Paul passed out the "Cash on Hand" Report, and indicated the Expense side of the Budget was done, and the Income side will be done by the next meeting.
3. As a suggestion for future Income for the Troop, Mr. Katona passed out literature from "Profit Potential", an organization that specializes in Candy and misc. sale items for organizations. The action items for this topic are:
-PLC to discuss whether they want to sell candy as a fund raiser at their next meeting on 12/27/98
-Brian Golrick will nominate scouts to work on the "Business Case" to justify the decision, scouts to work with adults on the case.
-Paul & the Finance Committee will look at (1) should we go with Profit Potential, or (2) should we go with another candy distributor
4. Mrs. Johnson mentioned that SNET has an fundraiser that applies even for people already using SNET, and it could be a easy way to raise money-- she will investigate further.
5. Mr. Pescatore had to work and could not attend tonight's meeting, so there was no Scoutmaster's report. However, Mr. Golrick announced that due to personal commitments Mr. Pescatore has to resign as Scoutmaster. He also announced that Mike Abrahamson has volunteered to serve as Scoutmaster. He was asked to leave the room and a short discussion followed on Mike's vast scouting experience. He was unanimously elected by all parents in attendance as the new Scoutmaster for Troop 68. Mr. Abrahamson announced that there would be a meeting of all Assistant Scoutmasters at his home this Thursday, December 10th, at 7:30pm at his home. He also indicated that he was hoping that Mr. Pescatore would serve as an Assistant Scoutmaster so the Troop could still take advantage of his vast experience.
6. Mr. Golrick reviewed the calendar for January/February.
7. Jim Misincik reviewed the skiing trips- January 9th, night skiing at Mohawk; February 6th (Sequassen) at Ski Sundown; and a third date will probably be scheduled for the end of February.
New Business:
Rich Alesevich will look into the Mount Snow ski trip run each year by the Green Mountain Council.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 pm.
